The project is being implemented to extend the service life of the dam and involves the reconstruction of the dam and construction of a low level outlet.
- Phase three B, which is currently being carried out, involves the reconstruction of the dam and construction of a low level outlet. Works include the reconstruction of the old spillway control section, spillway chute channel and spillway training walls, as well as modification of the embankment upstream. The construction of the low level outlet will enable the dam to safely release water from the reservoir to the Schoharie Creek. The outlet will be capable of releasing 1,500 million gallons of water a day.
- Utilization of Kobelco Crane.
- Configure the crane to drill batter tie downs and Caisson Drilled caisson and over 110 tie-down anchors.
- This system was used to control drilling and water collection, further discharging into a containment box and settling pond.
