Matcon has been contracted to remove all hazardous materials from the 10-storey mixed use building and demolish the concrete precast structure in preparation for redevelopment:
- Over $1M in hazardous materials abetment and disposal
- More than 1,200 crane picks to disassemble the building
- Strip out 3+ floors of office/residential space
- Work in cooperation with Matcon Excavation and Shoring for all below grade demolition
- Coordination of over 50 subcontractors
- Obtained a variance to commence soft demolition concurrent with abatement activities
- With over 85,000 manhours, no lost-time accidents occurred
- Bulk/Detail excavation of 25,000m3 of soils
- Installation of 30,000sf of Shotcrete shoring & 20,000ft of tieback anchors
